It's all about Making Connections.

Since its start in 2002, the PSMA has aimed to continue, provide and encourage education, as well as strive to make professional connections. Through breakfast seminars, we bring in guest speakers that directly address the hot topics we are approached with everyday: how to approach online networking, what is the place for blogs in the workplace, how to develop referral networking systems, how does a service industry “go green,” and so on. 

In addition to these breakfast seminars, we also host a series of membership luncheons and happy hours. The luncheons are a great time to learn, network and receive current updates about the PSMA, while the happy hours are fun, laid back ways to enhance the social networking aspects of the association.

As a member, you are encouraged to get involved and welcomed to join our programming committee to assist in finding interesting people to address topics of today’s marketing world, or to plan our more social-based events like wine tastings and meet-and-greets.

As marketing professionals, we are all firm believers of “making connections.” The PSMA allows us to expand and build the marketing profession throughout the Pittsburgh community. And although we are a group of competitive people by nature, the PSMA provides an active forum for sharing ideas and experiences among its members.

To further serve and assist our membership, we provide an updated job bank – where we aim to really use our connections to best match our fellow marketing professionals with open positions. With the way that today’s economy is, we are proud to offer this service and hope to enhance and provide opportunity.

For those of us that are the “one and only” marketing person at their firm, the PSMA provides additional benefits, as assistance can be provided in an array of avenues. Connections and friends made through the PSMA provide that marketing team that you don’t have within your firm as a place to go for ideas and help. Having these new friends provide the creative, innovative boost that some sole “creatives” lose from time to time.

We encourage any marketing professionals in the area to get to know us and see what the PSMA is all about. With board positions and committees to join, there is a great opportunity to learn, make a difference and get to know some great people.
